Steps To A Healthy Mindset

mindset Apr 08, 2020

Hey Friends,

In my personal growth of self care and healthy relationships, one very important key to both of these is creating and developing a healthy mindset.  I have found in my personal journey, that by listening to my thoughts and changing them to thoughts that serve me and strengthened both areas in my life.

During challenging times these steps will help you to stay focused on what you do have control of, instead of being trapped in what you have no control of.

We all know that an order of Stay Home Stay Healthy has been put in place for our whole nation.  Together we are experiencing a different kind of normal.  This time can either work for you or against you, so I would like to share a few actions steps that you can take to allowing this time to work for you.

Welcome it!  That’s right WELCOME IT!  When circumstances in our life happen that we cannot change the most powerful thing you can do is welcome it!

Accept in your own mind that if we spend our time thinking about how messed up or ridiculous or fearful this is then we are fighting against what we cannot change.  That my friend will bring anxiety and depression into your life.

For those of you that already suffer from this, it will only elevate it.  If you choose to welcome the current situation it will begin to bring you peace and open up your mind to new ideas that you can do during this time.  It will prevent “spinning” in your thought process!

  • Listen to your thoughts.  Our thoughts will continue on auto pilot until you listen to what your thoughts are saying.  Then you can change those thoughts into thoughts that serve you and bring calmness into your day.

  • Focus on the positive.  Create thoughts that bring you peace and joy.  Stop the negative and invite the positive.

  • Make a list of thoughts you know are healthy to think on and read your list as often as you need to during your day.

  • When you hear your thoughts saying words that bring anxiety, start thinking on everything you have to be grateful for.  Make a gratitude list, this would consist of things you are thankful for.  It may be simple things, that’s O.K. its the simple things that really matter.

  • When you feel irritated with your loved ones, start thinking of everything you like about them.  If you have to think hard on this, that is O.K. to, take the time to do it.

  • Think of things you can do or say to someone else that would put a smile on their face.  When we take our focus off self, it reminds us of why life is so special.

  • Do not be hard on yourself with your thought process!  This is so important when developing a healthy mindset.  Give your self grace and show love to yourself in your thoughts.

  • Remember this very important step, This Is Only Temporary!  This too shall pass.  One day you will look back on this time and realize that discomfort always passes!  Grow through this time, become stronger because of it.  Be better not bitter!

I love you all and if you have any prayer requests send me an email. I will keep you on my prayer list.

In His Love,

Sandee
