How To Take Care of You In Times of Uncertainty

anxiety mindset Mar 25, 2020

Hey friends,

With all the uncertainty of what is going on in the world, stay strong!  I know that is easier said than done, so I wanted to give you some ideas of how you can destress and take your mind off what is happening.

As an expert in self care I know how important it is to allow your mind to rest!

By giving yourself this gift it allows you to stay strong and healthy.  If you have kids or your spouse at home, I know that can make it even harder for you to find time for you.  Or maybe you are home alone and find yourself more lonelier than usual.

Whatever your situation it is so important for you to make the time for you.  Here are a list of some things that are practical and I hope they will help you just breathe!!  Believe me it will help!  Protect and guard your heart and mind.

So here you go;

  • Limit the time you spend listening to the news.

  • Limit time on social media.  If your friends are putting things out there that bring fear or anxiety, unfollow them.  Listen to uplifting and encouraging post that bring you peace in the midst of this storm.

  • Turn the unpredictable into opportunity and spend more time doing things around the house you enjoy.

  • Watch movies that take your mind off of our current situation, this will help your mind rest.

  • Do projects you’ve wanted to get done for a long time and haven’t had the time for.

  • Get accurate information on what is happening in the world from who.com (World Health Organization) or cdc.com (Center of Disease Control).

  • Practice self care!  Read a good book that takes you away (like calgon lol), talking about calgon, take a long leisurely bath.  Do your own nails and toes, but please do not cut your bangs lol!

  • Call a friend or family member and give them encouraging words through this time of uncertainty.

  • Tell yourself throughout the day that YOU ARE OK AND YOU WILL BE OK!

  • Start a grateful journal (if you do not already have one).  For the next 30 days write down 3 things each day you are grateful for.  Make them new things each day.  At the end of your 30 days you will have 90 things you are grateful for.

I hope this helps, if you apply these steps you will keep your mind healthy and cut back on anxiety, depression, and fear.

If you feel yourself stuck or in an unhealthy mind set reach out to someone, or email me at [email protected], we can chat and keep building that strong mindset!

In His Love,

Sandee
